Garden presentation

The owners of the garden were looking for a contractor with the right expertise and references to build their garden immediately after purchasing the plot, when the house plans were completed. An important criterion during the selection process was that the gardener should show their own garden, which is the most convincing reference work for the owners. This is how the choice fell on gardener László Szabados and the Pihenőkert.hu team.

The house was still structurally complete, but its mass and location on the plot were already visible when the design of a garden that matched it in style, layout and functionality began. The concept plan was formed, which had time to be thought through and fine-tuned during the years of house construction. By the time the house was completed, the masons and specialists had left, and the garden construction could begin. By then, a clear garden plan had also been developed that perfectly suited the needs of the owners, their family and grandchildren, in the design of which the garden-loving owners took an active role.

The garden is located on a mountainside with a beautiful panorama, so in order to maximize its usability, eight continuous terrain levels and terraces were created.

The first third is the tastefully designed street front and the front garden at street level, which continue on both sides of the house, directly surrounding the terrace on the lower level of the multi-storey house. Here you can find the modern “summer kitchen”, the large covered shaded terrace for family gatherings and the functions for relaxation and refreshment. The Mediterranean-style plant assortment goes well with the limestone cladding of the house, and the columnar plants help to cover the windows in front of the house to preserve the intimacy of the house.

The next third is the beginning of the “slalom course”, where the slopes are covered with various ground covers, while a bed of colorful perennials and shrubs has been placed next to the grass-covered path. In this section, you will find the garden fire pit and associated relaxation area, and further down, a garden swing serving as a place for afternoon naps.

The lower section is all about the grandchildren, as beyond the garden house there are fruit trees, vegetable and fruit beds, which can be explored and harvested together with grandparents and parents.

The Pihenőkert.hu team builds easily maintainable gardens, so countless technical solutions were needed to make the 1,300 m2 plot with a level difference of over 10 meters well-utilizable and easy to maintain. In addition to the drainage and drainage solution, water intake points were also needed. The terrain had to be designed so that usable horizontal surfaces and slopes alternate, with a continuous road system. The robotic lawnmower treats the entire lawn as a unit, even passing through the paved driveway in the front garden. High-quality enriched and loosened crushed soil is an important part of the long-term nutrition and drainage of the plants planted on the hillside. The entire garden was given an irrigation system with well-designed irrigation heads and a drip system, so that each plant receives the ideal amount of water for its size, so that there is no waste. The mainly pine bark decor fits well with the atmosphere of the garden. The trees and birdbath help the animals to take possession of this beautiful garden, which brings a lot of joy to the owners and their family members.
